The EA113 1.8 engine of the Volkswagen EA827 segment was released in 1983. This engine was produced in both carburetor and injection versions. In addition to the differences in the injection system, the EA113 1.8 internal combustion engine had a turbocharged and atmospheric version. The turbine appeared on this engine in 1994. The increase in engine power served to increase the demand for the cars where it was installed.
